Appalachee
EVERYDAY COMFORT · EASY STYLE
ESSENTIALS · FROM $350
Appalachee is the first generation of Iris's in-house eyewear collection, created by Surinder Bamrah, Iris founder and senior optician. After more than four decades in eyewear, Surinder brought the knowledge earned from fitting real people every day into a line of frames with a personal point of view: thoughtful proportions, premium acetate, and an unmistakably substantial feel in the hand.
The collection is named for people who matter to him. Surinder, Lizzy, Penny, Babe, Gian, Rasna, and Stella are not anonymous model codes; each name holds a connection to a person, a memory, or the community around Iris. That makes Appalachee more than a house label. It is a collection with a story built into its names, and with shapes intended to be tried, adjusted, and lived in.

WHY IRIS CARRIES IT
Chosen with intent.
Appalachee is part of the Iris story. It lets the optical team share frames conceived from decades of firsthand dispensing experience, then guide every visitor through shape, bridge, proportion, and final adjustment in person. The result is an independent alternative with genuine local meaning—not a generic private-label collection.
THE DETAILS
What sets it apart.
01
More than four decades of fitting insight
Surinder's long career in eyewear informs the collection's attention to proportion, bridge placement, balance, and the small adjustments that make a frame feel considered. Final fit is always assessed in person.
02
Premium acetate with presence
The frames use premium acetate for rich colour, polished depth, and a substantial tactile feel.
03
Names that carry a story
Every model is named for someone close to Surinder and the Iris community, giving the collection a personal lineage without turning private relationships into marketing copy.
